The relation of the Uralic
*-n
genitive, the postpositional
phrase, the relative order of Cx and Px and the congruence
of adjective and noun
In this paper I (re)consider the possible relations between different morpho-
logical phenomena in the light of the results of the historical-comparative
Uralic linguistics. The base of the investigation serves the morphological
markedness of the investigated phenomena. As a conclusion, I argue that the
*
n
originated genitive suffix occurs consistently in all structures which ”can
be” marked with genitive case and it should be reflected in the reconstructed
(PU, PFU) proto-languages.
